REPORTER: Thank you both for taking time out
from your current job searches-
MARITA: - Correction, I had to stop job searching
when the writers of “Fox & Rat” decided it would be a good idea to
bring me back into the story. I thought I was killed off but the writers
had other ideas.
REPORTER: Ok, thank you for the correction,
I was going to get around to that a bit later but since you brought
it up I guess we can start there. Marita, how do you feel about being
killed off only to be brought back via time travel?
MARITA: I was disappointed to be back on the
show. I really was looking forward to starting a movie career that
didn’t include “Robot 2000” as my only credit. Plus, I heard rumors
that the writers were pressured by Alex Krycek because he wanted me
back – as if stalking Mr. Rohrer wasn’t enough for him. He was kind
of a drama queen and threatened to leave the show forever.
REPORTER: And the writers gave in to his request?
BRAD: They always do. It’s safer for them just
to listen to him. Though in the editing room a lot of his scenes end
up on the cutting room floor. Mulder will usually distract him while
this is happening so he has no clue.
MARITA: Like the stripper pole scene from season
five.
BRAD: The killing of Doggett because he isn’t
Skinner scene from season seven.
MARITA: The marriage to Mulder in season one
when he was crushing on him.
BRAD: The threesome scene with Dana and Monica
in season eight.
MARITA: The killing Diana Fowley out of jealously
scene from season seven – they actually switched that to conversation
about Alex kissing Mulder to break them up.
BRAD: The figure skating Olympics scene from
season eight in which you and Alex win Olympic gold when Krycek bribed
the judges and slept with one of your opponents to distract her before
the competition. Thankfully the writers sent him back home before
all of that to help find Dana when Scott took her.
MARITA: The episode where Krycek became a king
of some tiny island from season four.
REPORTER: I get it. Anyway... Brad, is there
any chance that you survived that vicious stabbing at the end of last
season? I know the fans are hoping that you survived that.
BRAD: I think it is safe to say that I’m gone.
Saving Krycek at that, I’m sure he had something to do with that.
But you never know, there could be episodes next season where I could
make an appearance in a flashback or something. Plus, Monica can see
the dead.
REPORTER: Now you two have an interesting history.
You were almost married in the first “Fox & Rat” movie, “European
Voyage”. There have been rumors that you two had some kind of romantic
relationship. Is there any truth to that?
MARITA: I would’ve liked that. Brad’s a nice
guy, and would have been much preferred than my “marriage by the heart”
to Alex Krycek.
BRAD: The rumors are that, just rumors. We’re
friends though.
REPORTER: So even in real life there are no...
special feelings?
Marita and Brad look at each other and grin.
MARITA: Brad, you tell him.
BRAD: You can.
MARITA: I’m shy.
BRAD: No you’re not.
MARITA: Tell them how you know that.
BRAD: No.
Marita gives Brad a delicate look and bats her
eyes.
BRAD: Ok, last Christmas at the season finale
party I was a little tipsy and Marita was standing underneath a mistletoe
and we kissed. Ok, I kissed her and she liked it.
MARITA: So we kissed for a long time.
REPORTER: Is Alex aware of this?
They both laugh.
BRAD: I don’t think I’d be sitting here giving
this interview if he knew.
REPORTER: So there’s no worry that he might
pay attention to your interview that we’re doing today?
MARITA: Alex is in a world all his own. He’ll
hear what he wants to hear and think I made out with him instead of
Brad. But can we move on so not all questions are revolving around
Alex Krycek?
BRAD: Actually, working with Alex last season
wasn’t all that bad. He wasn’t around Knowle or Marita and was more
mature. We actually shared a few scenes that I really, really enjoyed
doing with him. He can be quite the professional under certain circumstances.
I hope in the upcoming season that others can say the same thing about
him. I do think that the writers need to sit down with him and lay
out some ground rules though.
MARITA: Yeah, he’s not all bad – well, not always
as bad as we make him seem. We did have a couple of good love scenes
together where he was actually very professional.
REPORTER: I know you mentioned not wanting so
many questions revolving around Krycek, but I do have a few that I
know some of the fans would like to know. In last week’s interview,
Krycek said that there might be a reunion in the next season for you
and him. What can you tell the fans about that?
MARITA: Obviously I can’t say too much. But
I do know that my storyline in the final season is a bit... how would
you say... devious. Marita is alive, but no one knows how that happened.
No one knows how she got to the future – if she is really in the future
or not. My story is covered in mystery right now and I can assure
you the writers plan on revealing what happened to me, where I am,
and what I’m doing through out the season. As for a reunion with Krycek...
all in good time.
REPORTER: Brad, who are you going to miss working
with the most now that you’re off the show.
BRAD: Monica. We had a lot of love scenes that
I really enjoyed doing.
Brad smiles deviously.
MARITA: You wouldn’t guess it, but Brad’s quite
the ladies man.
BRAD: I guess I am. And the character on the
show is too. I mean, he first comes on and he’s not with Monica so
he kisses Dana in his office, gets her on a date with him. Then he
ditches Dana and heads off to bed with Monica, and then we find out
the guy’s betrothed to Marita. But yeah, I’m really going to miss
those scenes with Monica. Too bad we didn’t get one last season or
the one before that. Come to think about it... we haven’t had a love
scene since season six. Too bad about that.
REPORTER: Well, there was a lot going on in
your relationship with Monica and her past relationship with Robert
Comer, her pending relationship with Knowle Rohrer – how did you feel
about that? You were suddenly kind of booted out of bed with her.
BRAD: Obviously I was disappointed.
Marita laughs.
MARITA: The good thing about this show is all
the men are hot.
BRAD: And so are the women. Anyway... I just
think it was time to evolve my relationship with Monica and that actually
resulted in us splitting apart. I was the guy who wanted everything
to be how it was before she was put into that facility in season seven
and that’s not what she needed. She needed the guy who understood
her, and that was Knowle. Though there was Comer and he’s the guy
who didn’t know anything that was going on. I had a lot of competition
for her.
REPORTER: Did that competition make it difficult
to work with Robert Comer last season? He was even “making his moves”
a bit on her while you were there.
BRAD: That was fun actually. The guy’s great
and funny to work with. Always had the crew laughing. The tension
was a lot of fun to play out, I didn’t get that with Knowle, but with
Comer I did. I mean, we were the two guys who almost married the same
woman and we were both trying to get back in her heart.
REPORTER: Marita, you are living in the future.
Is there a chance at a new romance for you?
MARITA: I hope so and I hope it’s not Krycek.
I would like to have a new romance to work with since it’s always
been the same guy. Maybe Doggett, maybe Skinner, maybe Mulder, maybe
Knowle, maybe some new guy we don’t know.
REPORTER: Of the current men on the show, would
you have a preference of going to bed with any one of them?
MARITA: Doggett. I threw myself at him in season
seven and the wuss didn’t go for it. He’s the only one I really haven’t
slept with on the show. Obviously I’ve done Krycek. I’ve had an affair
with Skinner and Knowle. Mulder got a woody with me in season two.
I was supposed to marry Brad so I technically haven’t been with him
on the show. Marita’s kind of a slut if you think about it.
REPORTER: Does your um... desire for Doggett
cause tension between you and Dana? Or are you two best friends? I
guess what the fans want to know is... have you and Dana had any cat
fights over Doggett?
MARITA: No. But Krycek and Dana have had cat
fights over him.
BRAD: There was that time when Dana put a nickel
in your shoe so you’d walk funny in one scene because that day you
groped John.
MARITA: No! I was walking funny because I had
just come from Walter’s dressing room.
BRAD: Right.
REPORTER: Brad, now that you are off the show
are you going to keep reading?
BRAD: No. I’ll be glad to get away from it.
But I probably should keep up on what’s going on incase they need
to use me for something.
REPORTER: Marita, do you read the series?
MARITA: Of course I do. I even like to give
my input on some of the episodes and lines that my character has to
say.
REPORTER: This is for both of you, do you prefer
the comedy or the drama era of the series?
BRAD: Comedy. The beginning of the series is
so slap stick funny I find myself walking down the street and laughing
at the thought of it. The things that Mulder and Krycek got themselves
into are just hilarious. Especially their trip to Roswell.
MARITA: I love drama. The angst and action of
the seasons later in the series are just top notch.
REPORTER: Is there a particular storyline in
the last season – or moment – that you enjoyed that was either dramatic
or comedic?
BRAD: Naked hugging. I couldn’t stop laughing
(he begins to giggle) for- (he laughs harder) a very long time after
that happened between Mulder and Krycek. Poor Marita, at least she
got to cover her eyes.
MARITA: Dramatically I love that Dana is dying
of cancer. Death isn’t really something that phases Dana but I like
seeing the effect it has on Doggett and I’m hoping that her eminent
death destroys their relationship so that I can bed him when he needs
comfort the most.
The reporter and Brad share a look.
BRAD: You’re very... sensitive Marita. Really.
MARITA: But when you look at it from a story
telling perspective it’s actually a good story line. Drama and angst,
that’s what their relationship thrives off of. They’d fall apart quicker
than a melting iceberg if their relationship didn’t have complications.
BRAD: Ever notice how those complications have
actually made their relationship stronger?
MARITA: So. A girl can hope, right?
BRAD: Dana is dying and you’re hopeful that
will happen. Marita, it’s moments like this where I think you and
Alex Krycek are meant to be.
Marita stands up and bitch slaps Brad very,
very hard across the face.
MARITA: YOU BITCH!!
Brad shrugs his shoulders and shares a look
with the reporter, who shrugs his shoulders back at him.
SUDDENLY! Alex Krycek bursts into the room!
KRYCEK: MARITA LYNN! Be nice to my mommy!
MARITA: (to Alex) SHUT UP!!
Reporter stands up, attempting to break up the
fight.
REPORTER: Now, let’s be friendly-
Marita slaps the reporter out of her way and
marches over to Krycek.
MARITA: I HATE YOU!
KRYCEK: I LOVE YOU!
MARITA: DIE!
KRYCEK: OK!
He starts to go over towards the window of the
high rise building they are in and starts to pound on it in the hopes
of breaking the window.
Brad runs over and pulls on Krycek’s arm and
tears him away from the window sill.
BRAD: Alex! Do not kill yourself for a woman
because she says so!
KRYCEK: But I love her!
BRAD: (calm) What about Knowle, huh?
MARITA: Die! Alex, die!
KRYCEK: I love Knowle. He’s my knight in shining
armor. I DA MAN!!!
Marita GLOMPS on both Brad and Krycek and beats
her fists against the both of them, they struggle to get away, but
alarmingly she’s quite strong.
The reporter stands up off the ground, we missed
it but Marita knocked him down too.
REPORTER: That’s all we have time for today.
I thank you for tuning in to this week’s interview and invite you
to join us next week when I get to speak with John Doggett and Dana
Scully. I can almost guarantee to you that their interview will be
much more... (he looks back at the chaos behind him)... civilized.
The reporter lowers his microphone and looks
off stage.
REPORTER: Can we get security in here? I’m sick
of this damn bullshit.
He starts to walk out of frame.
REPORTER: These stupid people.
