Author's Note: 3:17am, three Mountain Dews, and no sleep. Read on....
Summary: Mulder and Krycek decide to have a life and invite Marita to go with them to a karoke bar, they run into some friends and Krycek entertains us just a bit.
FADE IN:
INT. MULDER'S APT. - DAY
We are looking into Mulder's apartment looking in from the hallway. We see a rather large cardboard moving box heading somewhere inside the apartment. We hear the struggling grunts from inside.
CUT TO REVEAL:
MULDER & KRYCEK
pushing as hard as they possibly can.
MULDER
Krycek?! What is in this box?KRYCEK
That is for me to know,
and for you to never find out.MULDER
Well, that's unfair.TIME CUT TO:
INT. MULDER'S APT. - LIVING ROOM - EARLY EVENING
Mulder and Krycek are on the couch... exhausted. Krycek is having a beer... Mulder's head is back, looking up at the ceiling.
MULDER
Krycek, do you want to go
out and have a life, instead
of looking so damn good on this
couch?KRYCEK
What are you saying?
I don't have a life?MULDER
You're living with me
aren't you?KRYCEK
Fine. (beat;looks inspired)
I'll go call Marita. We'll go
to the local bar.TIME CUT TO:
SUBWAY - NIGHT
They have met Marita... at a subway station. As the tram approaches, Mulder says something on the lines of: "Oh goodie."
They board the tram, and there is only one seat left. So Mulder grabs it, instead of being a nice gentleman to Marita. Krycek glares at him.
KRYCEK
(To Marita)
Hey baby, I'll getcha a seat.Marita rolls her eyes. Krycek takes out a "Rice Krispy" treat, and puts it on his prosthetic left hand... then he puts his left hand on the above handle and waits, remember, it's sticky. Marita gives him the 'what the hell' look. He just smiles. And Mulder chuckles in the background... in anticipation.
The tram engine starts to come to a start. The force of the tram starting makes Krycek lean forward...
KRYCEK
(under breath)
Here we go.Then ZOOM!!! The tram jolts forward! The force throws Krycek back, as his body falls back... leaving his left prosthetic arm dangling on the handle. Krycek is on the floor screaming his head off... yelling:
KRYCEK
MY ARM!!!!Suddenly, Mulder stands up (this is obviously planned.) and says:
MULDER
EVERYONE, OFF THE TRAIN!!
(he pushes the emergency stop
button.) I AM A TRAINED MEDICAL
DOCTOR.Everyone evacuates the tram, trying to avoid Krycek screaming on the ground.
After the doors close and Mulder figures out how to start the train again... Krycek stands up, re-attatches his arm, cleaning it from the goo. He puts his arm around Marita (who is embarrassed)...
KRYCEK
Here ya go baby.MARITA
(tone of disbelief)
Thanks.TIME CUT TO:
INT. KAROKE BAR - NIGHT
Don't let bar confuse you, this is a nice place... people are casually dressed nicely. We pan through the dim-lighted crowd to find...
SCULLY AND SKINNER
At a table near the middle of the bar. Both are dressed nicely as well. Scully is wearing the dress that the Cigarette-Smoking Man gave her in The X-Files season seven episode "En Ami" (7x15). They are in deep conversation... obviously they are very intimate.
The song "Fever" sung by Madonna, is playing... karoke hour is coming up soon...... when...
SCULLY'S POV - BAR DOOR
Suddenly, the door of the bar burst open. In comes Mulder (in first), he is giggling. Then comes in Krycek and Marita... way behind him.
We can see Skinner behind her in the background pulling out a velvet ring box from his jacket pocket. He looks towards the door and sees Mulder. He quickly puts the ring box back in his pocket just as Scully turns her attention back to Skinner.
SCULLY
What was that?SKINNER
(nervous)
Uh... I'll tell you later.Mulder, Krycek, and Marita pass by them. Marita is the only sane person here, and notices Skinner and Scully. Marita stops, and walks over to Skinner and Scully... Mulder and Krycek are headed to the bar... she thinks that having Mulder sit with his boss... just might calm him down.
MARITA
(in sweet voice)
Excuse me, Dana?SCULLY
Hi Marita. I didn't
expect you to be here.MARITA
(slightly embarassed)
Do you mind if we
sit with you?Scully looks over to Skinner. Skinner nods in agreement. They want to get their relationship out in the open. Marita already knows since her and Scully are roommates. (AUTHOR'S NOTE: yes... in our little lala land... Marita and Scully are best friends, Scully and Skinner are together, and Mulder and Krycek are friends... be expecting a sister site made by Marita and Dana.)
MARITA
I'll go get the boys.We follow Marita to the bar, which is where we find Mulder and Krycek. Krycek has had three drinks... and Mulder is working on his first glass of water. Bad Krycek... drinking is bad. Remember that. (AUTHOR'S NOTE: Yes, we have good morals.)
CUT BACK TO:
SKINNER AND SCULLY'S TABLE
Marita, Mulder, and Krycek are arriving. Mulder sits next to Scully. Scully looks uncomfortable because she is wearing that dress in front of her partner.
MULDER
Hey Skin Man.SKINNER
What have I told you
about calling me that.MULDER
(quietly)
Sorry Sir.There is a long silence. What do ya say... you've got Krycek... a killer. Marita... a UN Special Representative to the Secretary General. FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner, and two of his agents. Hmmm....
Krycek... already drunk... or pretty close... he's Russian. He can hold his liquor. As he speaks, he is slurred and leans into the center of the table.
KRYCEK
So... Muuulllder. (beat) When
you gonna getta date?MULDER
(deadpan)
I have a date.KRYCEK
Oh really (beat) where?Mulder doesn't comment.
SKINNER
(to Krycek/Mulder)
So, are you going to
participate in the karoke
hour?KRYCEK
Sure...Skin Mann-ah.
(signals a waiter)
Twee (3) Vodka pweez.Marita mouths to the waiter: "Water it down." Mulder adds: "A lot." (and hands the waiter a twenty dollar bill.) The waiter nods yes... but who knows....
ANNOUNCER
And now.... What you've
all been waiting for......
It's... KAAAAAARROKEE HOUR!KRYCEK
(very loud)
YESSS!!!!(bangs on table)Everyone in the room looks at him.
SCULLY
covers her mouth so only Skinner can see... and mouths off: "Let's go."
SKINNER
(announcing)
We're going to get going.KRYCEK
(very slurred)
No way Skin Mannn. You
know I press buttonnn...Skinner signals to Scully that it will be a few minutes.
Out of nowhere, Krycek stumbles up... almost falls... catches himself... and winks at Marita...
KRYCEK
(extremely happy) Up!
(insanly) Me sing.
(overjoyed) Song!
(points index finger up
in triumph.)He goes over to the karoke machine and selects the song "I Will Always Love You". He announces that this song is dedicated to his one true love in his life... Marita Covarrubias. He starts to sing... very slurred.
KRYCEK
(singing)
If I-I... Should stay-yy...
I would on-ly-yy be in your way.
(he doesn't hold the last note)CUT TO:
MARITA - CLOSE
She is covering her face... only wanting to leave.
MULDER
(to Marita)
I can take you out on
the dance floor so it
doesn't seem like it's
you he's singing to.Marita gets up and grabs Mulder and yankes him onto the dance floor. Holding him close and hiding her face in his shoulder. Mulder grins.
We see in the background Skinner putting his jacket on Scully and they walk out... Skinner's arm around her shoulder.
Krycek... looks out on the dance floor. He sees... Mulder with Marita.
KRYCEK
WHAT ARE YOU DOING
WITH MY WOMAN!!KRYCEK
Jumps off the stage like a flying squirrel... and falls. He runs over and pushes Mulder away... and hugs Marita in his arms tightly.
KRYCEK
(whispering in her ear)
Please don't leave me.
I'm so sorry.He holds Marita's face in his hands and looks in her eyes and kisses her on the cheek. Everyone in the room applauds.
Mulder is standing overjoyed in the background smiling. He looks back towards the table like how Paul Rudd (AUTHOR'S NOTE: He went to Kristi's school.) in "Romeo + Juliet" (1996) during the costume party (basically... he's looking back overjoyed with happiness for his buddy with a goofy grin on his face.) Then he is confused because he doesn't see them (Skinner/Scully)... they are gone. "They miss everything." he thinks to himself.
Mulder looks back over to Marita and Krycek... and runs over and gives them both a big hug.
MULDER
(overly emotional)
Aww! You guys!!And he squeezes them tighter.
