Summary: Virtual Quija boards, The Gunmen and a beautiful psychic lead to the discovery the gang is in trouble on the other side...
FADE IN:
INT. OFFICE OF THE LONE GUNMEN
Frohike looks hard at work on one of his many computers in the office. We only see his face... he looks very very concentrated... then his expression changes to excitement and shock!
FROHIKE
(calm)
Unbelievable...He hits some more keys... then smiles. We start to pan around the computer to see his computer screen... In big fancy letters on the screen reads: Online Ouija Board and underneath that reads: Contact Lost Souls. Frohike is amazed.
He types in a question: "What is your name?". The screen starts to move to the letters: "FWM".
FROHIKE
(thinking)
F...W...M...F...W...M...His eyes go wide.
FROHIKE
Mulder?...The screen changes and it moves to "YES".
FROHIKE
I don't believe it... How?Frohike begins to type something when all of a sudden the computer turns itself off... in fact, all the lights go out!
ALL IS BLACK:
BYERS (O.S.)
Frohike? What happened?
FROHIKE
I-I don't know. (beat)
Everything just turned off!
LANGLY (O.S.)
I found a flashlight!All the lights come on and the computer re-starts. Langly and Byers come out to where Frohike is. Byers is wearing a long sleeve button-up pajama shirt with flannel pants. Langly is wearing his Ramones T-shirt and sweat pants.
BYERS
What happened?
FROHIKE
The damn thing just shut off.
LANGLY
Are you sure you didn't
do a power serge or something?Frohike doesn't know what he's talking about.
LANGLY
I felt this wave off...
uh... electricity. (beat)
You mean you guys didn't?He looks to Byers then to Frohike.
FROHIKE
I don't know... I think
I felt some-
BYERS
Guys...
Byers goes over to the computer. Langly looks over.
LANGLY
What the...
FROHIKE
What does it mean...?
We make our way through the Gunmen to see that on their computer screen are the letters: "FWM" showing up frantically.
LANGLY
FWM! What the hell
does that mean?
BYERS
Fox William... Mulder...
CUT TO: INT. SATORI'S PSYCHIC READINGS
A young blond woman (20s) is holding a ring in her hand, her eyes are shut. The room is dark with candles lit.
SATORI
(concentrated)
Blue...a...a blue flower...
Does this mean anything to you?
WOMAN
(sitting across from Satori)
Yes, my grandmother-
SATORI
She want you to know
that she's fine...
WOMAN
Good... I've been-
SATORI
There's a man.. he is...
he's uh... looking up at...
no... he's worried about...
fish. (beat) Does this mean
anything to you?
WOMAN
No...
Satori drops the ring that was in her hand.
SATORI
He says he's sorry, but
you can't talk to your
grandma right now...
WOMAN
Well get rid of him.
This is my money.
SATORI
He apologizes...but... he
has to talk to the three
men waiting outside...
WOMAN
Well I don't care about-A plate flies across the room towards the woman.
WOMAN
What the hell?!Satori's eyes fly wide open as the room begins to shake.
SATORI
Oh my God...The woman runs out of the room in fear. As she leaves, she runs past the Lone Gunmen. She's screaming. The Gunmen walk towards the dark curtains.
FROHIKE
Is this...The whole room is dark... the candles have gone out.
SATORI
He needs to speak to you.
LANGLY
Who?
SATORI
He won't give me his name. He
says you'll know. (beat) Sit down.The Gunmen enter the room and sit down across from Satori.
BYERS
What is-
SATORI
(holding up a hand)
Shh... he's showing me
fish... does this mean
anything to you?
FROHIKE
Yeah... Mulder had fish.
SATORI
(not expecting this)
Now he's uh... jumping up
and down... He says "That's a hit".
LANGLY
What does he want?There is a long silence.
BYERS
Miss?
SATORI
Shh... (beat) He wants you
to feed his fish... Jenny...
Tony... and Jake...Satori's eyes open.
SATORI
He's gone.
FROHIKE
He only contacted us to
let us know to feed his fish?
Satori looks at them. She only tells what she's given...
SATORI
How long ago did he die?
BYERS
Not even a year.
FROHIKE
More like two months ago.
Satori thinks this when:
SATORI
He's here...
LANGLY
What?!
SATORI
He has more to say... um...
he misses his fish...
Frohike laughs.
SATORI
He doesn't know why, but
he can't go to his apartment
to see them and he wants to
know why. And he thinks I'm
pretty. Well thank you.She smiles a little.
BYERS
Can he see us?
SATORI
Mulder?... Can you see your
friends?.... Yes he can.
FROHIKE
(amazed)
Neato...
SATORI
He says to go to his apartment
so he can know why he can't
go in there... and... and...
Slow down. Ok... he wants me
to go with you guys. He says
he misses everyone and that
Krycek, Marita, Scully and
Skin Man say 'hi'.
LANGLY
Unbelievable...
SATORI
He's gone again.All the Gunmen look amazed. News from the other side...
CUT TO:
INT. MULDER'S APARTMENT - SAME DAY
The apartment is too empty... too quiet... the fish aren't there anymore. Neither are any of the furniture. The door creek open. All three Gunmen enter, followed by Satori.
FROHIKE
This was his apartment.
Satori looks concentrated again.
SATORI
I don't like this.
BYERS
What is it?
SATORI
I'm getting a very bad feeling.Langly starts to look scared.
BYERS
(frightened a little)
L-like what?
SATORI
It's not under a good force...
Someone, or something... has
taken control over this apartment.
Something from the other side.
FROHIKE
Geez it's cold in here.
Satori walks over to where Mulder's couch use to be.
SATORI
(frightened a bit)
Oh god...There is a slight cold breeze that comes over all of them.
LANGLY
I'm gonna go make sure
I didn't park in front
of the fire line...
He quickly runs out.
SATORI
This is why Mulder can't
go to his apartment...
it's been... claimed...
BYERS
Claimed?
FROHIKE
By who? Or what?
SATORI
I'm not sure...
BYERS
I'm almost afraid to know.
SATORI
(after a beat)
It just left... whatever
it was... it's gone...
FROHIKE
For good?
SATORI
No... not until I can
get help. This... this
thing is something I've
never encountered before.
Byers and Frohike are looking around the room... still a little terrified.
SATORI
I have an Others meeting tonight-
FROHIKE
A what?
SATORI
It's a group I'm in. I'll
ask them to help. Stop by
tomorrow and I'll have
some answers for you... I hope.
She gives them a smile and walks towards the door. Frohike and Byers quickly follow, shutting and locking the door behind them. TIME CUT TO:
INT. SATORI'S PSYCHIC READINGS - NEXT DAY
The Lone Gunmen go inside. Satori comes out from behind the curtains. She is sipping tea.
SATORI
Hi.
LANGLY
Did you find out anything?
Satori sets her cup of tea down.
SATORI
Yes I did. (beat) This
friend of your's, Fox,
came tome again last night.
LANGLY
Fox? He lets you call
him Fox?
Satori is a bit confused.
FROHIKE
Looks like our boy Mulder
found a new chickadee...
BYERS
Still looking for someone
to take care of him when
he's on the other side...
SATORI
Anyway... he told me he
thinks he found out why
he can't get into his apartment.
LANGLY
And that would be...?
SATORI
A while ago, he told me, everyone's
friendship was tested... and they
past. Then one time he was in a
flashback of his own life... he
haunted himself, and he thinks
Satan had something to do with
it, or something like that...
LANGLY
So you're saying that right
now, Sata, The Devil, is
'living' in Mulder's apartment?
SATORI
Essentially, yes. And because
he, or she, is in there... they
are in danger on the Other side.
Mulder was pulled away after he
told me all this. (beat) We're
going to have to save them from
being lost on the Other Side
and never found.
The gunmen look scared.
SATORI
This force that pulled him
away... it... it was nothing
I've never felt before...
Off the Gunmen's scared expressions... FADE OUT:
