Summary: Monica Reyes and Frank Black investigate a strange murder in a small town.Jenny's Review:
This is one of Kristi's more serious stories. Frank Black is a wonderful guest star. He and Doggett get along pretty well even though Dogget is "sick of this spiritual mumbo jumbo." I think it's groovy that some of the characters are named after characters from Space: Above and Beyond. Make sure to watch for them as you read. There are also some wonderful teen idol torture happening in Hell. Krycek is a great devil. Even Marita thinks he's mean. Go Krycek! He likes to get rid of annoying, snobby, abercrombie wearing teens. Some of them fry, some explode. Blood, mayhem, unexplained deaths, and a bored Doggett playing solitare. What more can you ask for? EXT. SPOOKY FOREST - MID DECEMBER - SOMEWHERE MASS.
Snow is on the ground. Five teenagers are sitting in a circle with a fire burning in the center. They seem to have been drinking a little too much. One guy even pours some beer into the fire so it flames up big.
A teenage boy, Travis (17) has a book of ancient black magic. He has short brown hair, wearing his high school letter jacket. He seems to think of himself as the leader of this group.
Next to Travis sits a young teenage girl, Crystal (17). She has bad makeup on, you can't even be sure of her real skin color. Her bleach blond hair is pulled back. She wears an Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirt that's pink.
TRAVIS
(mean/demanding)
Everyone shut up.Another teenage boy lights up a cigarette. His name is Darrel (16). He has longer hair than Travis, it's in his face... not clean at all. He thinks he's so cool, but he's not.
Darrel is sitting next to two other girls, Summer (16) and Jessica (17). Summer is dressed similar to Crystal, and Jessica is just in jeans and a t-shirt.
TRAVIS
It's time to communicate.
I feel the time is now.Travis pulls out a pocket knife and cuts his hand. He squeezes his blood into a cup and passes the knife and cup to Crystal. She repeats what he did and passes it on. Everyone does it.
TRAVIS
(holding cup over fire)
We wish to contact Satan.Nothing happens. Darrel looks as if he's about to crack up. He's high. Jessica looks at him, a way of asking him to stop.
TRAVIS
When I pour our blood into
this fire, Satan will show
us his true face.He hesitates, then pours the blood into the fire. Nothing happens.
DARREL
You are so full of sh-The fire EXPLODES! Travis falls backwards. Everyone screams.
Silence.
The fire dies down... they all look scared. As the smoke rises, the shape of a body forms in the smoke.
SUMMER
(terrified)
What's going on?
TRAVIS
How the hell should I know?Krycek luminously appears before them. He looks DEMONIC.
DARREL
(too high to understand/amused)
Whoa... neat trick.Travis, Crystal, Summer, and Jessica jump up and run like hell. Darrel is a frickin' idiot and stays.
DARREL Krycek demonically looks at him.
(to Krycek)
Dude... are you like
Satan or somethin'?
KRYCEK
I'm worse than Satan...
I'm Alex Krycek... (beat)
This is who you are...
DARREL
Cool...Krycek's eyes get devious. He suddenly throws a ball of fire at Darrel and kills him. Off of Darrel's burning body... we:

ACT ONE OVER BLACK:
DOGGETT (V.O.)
No way Monica. I'm sick of
this spiritual mumbo-jumbo.FADE IN:
INT. DOGGETT & REYES' OFFICE - DAY
Monica doesn't seem happy with Doggett. Doggett sits at his desk, and Monica stands in front of him.
DOGGETT
All it is, is a group of
teenagers who got carried away.
REYES
But John-
DOGGETT
-No Monica. We've got
this case about-
REYES
(mad)
-Fine.She gets up and walks to the door.
DOGGETT
Mon', where are you going?Monica has left the room.
DOGGETT
Monica?Doggett is left alone in the office. He shrugs his shoulders and gets back to the case he was working on.
CUT TO:
EXT. FORREST - SMALL TOWN, MASS.
A nice black car pulls up to the crimes scene. It's snowing out and very cold. Monica steps out of the passenger side of the car. The driver, Frank Black (yes, the Frank Black from Millennium) steps out as well.
The sheriff approaches them.
SHERIFF McQUEEN
Agents Black and Reyes?
FRANK
Yes, that's us.
Sheriff McQueen (50s) looks relieved.
SHERIFF McQUEEN
(a bit nervous)
Boy are we glad to see you. We
don't know nothin' about this
kinda stuff. We've never had anything
like this before. The worse we ever got
was when a pig was stolen from Billy Retizak.
FRANK
Don't worry. We'll
solve this for you.
The Sheriff breathes a sigh of relief. They all walk over to the scene.
SHERIFF McQUEEN
We left the boy where we
found him.
REYES
(surveilling the scene)
Do you have any idea what
they might've been doing?
SHERIFF McQUEEN
We'll I'm guessin' they were
doing what normal youngsters
do on weekends... get drunk and
have a little fun. (beat) They're
too influenced by what they see on MTV.Frank is letting the scene speak to him.
Monica and the Sheriff listen. FRANK
There were five of them.
(beat) Three girls and two boys.
FRANK
He wasn't the leader. That's
why he's the only one here. He
and his friend thought if they
got the girls scared enough they
could sleep with them.
REYES
But both of the boys got scared.Frank pauses and looks the scene over again. Frank shakes his head "no".
FRANK
(pointing to body)
He wasn't scared.
REYES
(intrigued)
How do you know that?
Monica comes closer to the body. Frank kneels down and picks up a Morley cigarette box.
FRANK
He was high.
REYES
(questioning)
Off cigarettes?Frank opens the box.
FRANK
(shows her)
Marajuana.Monica takes the box. It's full. Except one is missing.
FRANK
He wasn't popular among the
group. But he tried. He thought
smoking marajuana would make him
fit in. (beat) Addicts would need
more than a few puffs.He holds up a cigarette butt. It's not small. Monica nods her head.
FRANK
Something went wrong here.
Someone got mad at him. He'll
be afraid to show his face in
public places. (beat) You'll want
to keep a close eye on popular
hangouts. Look for the one trying
to stay out of sight.
SHERIFF McQUEEN
I thought you said there
were five people. We've
got to have witnesses.Frank nods.
FRANK
Yes, but the leader's controlling. He's
not someone you want to disobey.
He'll threaten them. You won't
have any witnesses coming forward.The Sheriff nods, not sure what to think of Frank's profile. He walks back to his team and tells them what Frank said.
Monica is busy looking on the ground a few feet away. Something catches her eyes... She kneels down and picks up a small, leather book.
REYES
Agent Black...Frank looks over to her.
FRANK
What is it Agent Reyes?
REYES
I found a book...Frank comes over to see it as Monica stands up.
FRANK
(reading title)
"Book of Spells and Black Magic".
REYES
It gets worse... I found
this page bookmarked...
She shows him the page: "How to Conjure up the Devil".
REYES
I think we may be dealing
with something bigger than
we thought...
AGENT (O.S.)
I found something!Monica and Frank look back towards the crime scene.
The agent is pointing to the cup used to hold the teanagers blood. Monica and Frank go over to him.
REYES
It looks like blood. (beat)
Get a DNA test on it. And
finger print it.
The agent carefully puts the cup in an evidence bag. CUT TO:
INT. DAVID'S BOWLING PALACE - NIGHT
It's busy, despite what happened the previous night. Summer, Crystal and Jessica are sitting at a table alone. They all have some drink in front of them.
CRYSTAL
(low voice)
We can't tell. You
heard what Travis said.
SUMMER
(louder)
I don't like it. I'm scared.Jessica stays silent, not looking up at the other girls.
CRYSTAL
As long as we do what Travis
says, we'll be fine. (beat)
If we go to the cops, we'll
be thrown in jail. It'll make
us look bad, and we don't want that.
JESSICA
(Ms. Rational)
I don't see why we can't.
It's not like Darrel was
killed on purpose.
Crystal and Summer snear at her.
CRYSTAL
(snobby)
I mean it Jessica. If
you tell, you'll regret it.A boy comes up behind Crystal and scares her. She becomes overly flirtatious. Summer snears one more time at Jessica and turns her nose at her. She also becomes flirtatious. Jessica rolls her eyes. She looks away. Her eyes wonder to the enterance. She sees Sheriff McQueen. He's checking out the joint. He notices her, and she quickly looks away.
CUT TO:
INT. CRIME SCENE LAB - NEXT DAY
Monica walks in. A young lady approaches her. She's in a white lab suit.
DR. MEANS
Can I help you?
REYES
I'm Agent Reyes, I got a
call that the DNA tests
I ordered are done.
Dr. Means nods her head.
DR. MEANS
Your working the mysterious
death of Darrel Greentree...
Monica nods. Dr. Means walks over to a file. She hands it to Monica. She opens it.
DR. MEANS
I'm afraid they won't be much
use. Couldn't ID whose DNA it was.
REYES
(re: file)
The finger prints didn't
turn up either?
DR. MEANS
There weren't any.
Monica seems puzzled.
REYES
Thank you.
DR. MEANS
Sorry about that.Monica slowly walks out of the room, still examining the file.
INT. HALLWAY - CON'T
Behind Monica, we see Krycek. She sences his presence. A true sence of evil. She quickly turns around. Time seems to have stopped. She's paralyzed at the sight of him. Almost in a trance.
Suddenly, she is no longer in the hallway, but is surrounded by fire. Krycek approaches her.
We notice that Monica is now in a long red evening dress. She doesn't know whether to be confused or frightened...
KRYCEK
(mysterious)
This is who you are...He quickly flashes and looks like a demon, and quickly flashes back to his human form... further confusing Monica.
Suddenly, Monica is snapped out of it.
FRANK (V.O.)
Agent Reyes?Her eyes open. She sees florecent lights moving above her.
FRANK
Agent Reyes? Can you hear me?We are in a hospital. Monica's face is very pale. She seems halfway in a trance, and halfway out. Her eye lids are uneasy. Wanting to close, but trying to stay open.
NURSE SARA
(to Frank)
This is as far as you can go, sir.Frank stops walking and watches Monica go through some doors. Frank walks into a waiting room... the only thing he can do now is call Doggett...
CUT TO:
INT. DOGGETT & REYES' OFFICE - THAT DAY
Doggett is on his computer playing solitaire. He seems bored with it. His phone rings, and he exits his game.
DOGGETT
(into phone)
This is Agent Doggett.
FRANK
(through phone)
Agent Doggett, this is Frank
Black. (beat) Something's
happened to Agent Reyes.
Off Doggett's concerned look. CUT TO:
INT. HOSPITAL - SAME DAY
Doggett got there in a hurry. When he sees Frank, he immediately starts his questioning.
DOGGETT
Is she alright? What happened?
FRANK
I'm not sure. I got a call
saying my agent wasn't
breathing and that she was
being taken to the hospital.
Doggett is worried.
DOGGETT
(frantically looks around)
Is she going to be alright?
Where's a doctor?
FRANK
The doctor said she's going
to be fine. But they don't
want her to have any visitors
at this time.
Doggett takes a seat. He'll wait there, however long it takes. CUT TO:
INT. KRYCEK'S CHAMBER OF HELL - THE AFTERLIFE
Krycek is sitting on his big throne. Marita is at his side. She doesn't look happy. A few demons are scattered around the place playing poker and doing other various things. We also notice that Matt Damon and Gweneth Paltrow are in cages being prodded by some little demons. Krycek truely enjoys being the King of Darkness...
MARITA
I can't believe you can
be so mean. What did you
do to her?
KRYCEK
Just having a little
fun my dear...Krycek pats her on the head, his pride beaming off his face. Marita looks at him as if he makes her ill. Infact, she states it:
MARITA
(hatred/disgust)
You make me ill.
He smiles. He loves being evil. He checks his watch.
KRYCEK
Well... it's 6:66 again...
time to go cause more trouble...He turns and smiles at Marita. She sticks her tounge out at him, and pouts, looking away from him.
CUT TO:
EXT. FOOTBALL FIELD - NIGHT
WHAM! A dog pile of high school football players!
Snow is on the ground and it's cold.
The crowd cheers, cheerleaders cheer. We notice that Travis is the star quarterback. He thinks he's tough stuff. The city is having a special holiday football game.
We pan over to the cheerleaders. Crystal (head cheerleader), Summer and Jessica are there, with a bunch of other girls.
GROUP
(finishing cheer)
Go-oo WOLVES!We don't know why they are cheering during a holiday football game, but they are.
Half time.
SUMMER
Travis is so hot.
CRYSTAL
Oh my god, I know. (beat)
Does my hair look ok?In the background, we notice a dark figure lurking...
SUMMER
It's perfect as always.Crystal gives her a smile. Jessica looks nausiated by the way Summer sucks up to Crystal.
Suddenly, Crystal's body begins to shake violently. She falls to the ground. Everyone gasps.
SUMMER
OH MY GOD! Crystal! (beat)
Someone get some help!In the background we see Krycek smiling, 6:66 is his favorite time of the day... and night.
Crystal's body begins to turn a deep shade of red. She's burning up. Blisters forming all over her. Summer backs away in fear. Crystal's body shakes more violently. Blood seeps through her skin... slowly... pressure rising.
Jessica backs up in a big hurry... she sees Krycek... for all that he has become....
Crystal's body can't take it any more and she EXPLODES! Blood spraying over everyone. Everyone but Krycek.
Off the terrified screams we:
FADE OUT:
END ACT ONE
ACT TWO FADE IN:
EXT. FIELD
The crowd has left and yellow crime scene tape surrounds the area. Cop cars all around, and an ambulance. We see officers questioning witnesses. We also notice that Summer and Travis are no where to be seen. Jessica, however, is waiting to be questioned.
Doggett and Frank arrive. Sheriff McQueen approach them.
SHERIFF McQUEEN
I've never seen anything
like this before.
DOGGETT
What happened?
SHERIFF McQUEEN
Oh god, her body... it
...it just exploded.Frank is looking at the crowd of people watching. He's looking everything over. Letting the scene talk to him.
DOGGETT
Exploded?Frank looks towards Crystal's dead body.
He gets flashes of what happened.
FLASHES: Crystal's body shaking, a close disgusting zoom in of the blood tearing through her skin, and a final flash of the evil that caused this... Krycek. However, he sees Krycek as a demon.
Doggett approaches Frank.
DOGGETT
I don't think anything can
explain what happened here.
FRANK
I can Agent Doggett...
It was pure evil. The Devil.Doggett can't believe he's hearing this come out of a respected agent.
DOGGETT
The Devil? (beat) The story of
the Devil is told to scare kids
so they'll behave.
FRANK
Believe what you want Agent
Doggett. But let me assure
you, whatever caused this to
happen was not of this world.
(beat) I think we should
question her first.
Doggett follows his gaze to see Jessica. She is still sitting alone. Sensing their gaze, she looks over to them. CUT TO:
INT. INTERROGATION ROOM - SAME NIGHT
One table with a light above it. Doggett and Frank sit across the table from Jessica.
Doggett presses record on a tape recorder.
DOGGETT
Can you please state your
full name and age for the record.
JESSICA
Jessica Elizabeth Vansen.
I'm seventeen years old.
Doggett looks at his notes.
DOGGETT
You were with the victim at
the time of her death?
JESSICA
Yes.
FRANK
Can you tell us what you saw?
There is a long silent beat. Jessica's eyes no longer look up at them.
DOGGETT
(comforting)
It's ok, Jessica.
JESSICA
(quiet)
It was horrible.They listen.
JESSICA
She started to shake. (beat)
Blood... (chokes up) blood...
everywhere. (beat) She turned
red. (beat) I-I saw someting...
DOGGETT
What did you see?
She looks into Doggett's eyes with her next statement. To let him know she is telling the truth.
JESSICA
I-I don't know... evil.
Silence. Doggett looks to Frank. She's not elaborating on the "evil".
FRANK
Evil?
JESSICA
(hesitant)
I didn't want to believe
it... but it's true. (beat)
You'll think I'm crazy... but
I saw a demon... or the Devil...
Doggett's eyes wander over to Frank... he was right.
JESSICA
I know it sounds crazy, but
I can't explain it. I saw
it plain as day. The Devil
did this to her.
DOGGETT
What do you know about
Darrel Greentree?She looks up at him with wide eyes.
JESSICA
(loosing her composure)
What do you mean?
FRANK
Darrel Greentree. You knew him?
JESSICA
Yes.
FRANK
Were you with him
at the time of his death?
There is a long pause.
JESSICA
No. (beat) But I can tell
you what happened.
DOGGETT
What happened?
Jessica has tears in her eyes.
JESSICA
We were out in the forest having
some fun. We didn't think it
would work. (beat) I think we
conjured up the devil... We
didn't mean to.
DOGGETT
Who's 'we', Jessica?
JESSICA
If I tell, he'll kill me.
FRANK
We won't let anyone
hurt you, Jessica.
JESSICA
Myself, Crystal, Summer Watts
and Travis Carter.Doggett writes the names down.
JESSICA
If he even finds out I talked
to you guys, I'm as good as dead.
DOGGETT
Don't worry.
JESSICA
I'm gonna be in so much
trouble. We didn't mean
for anything to go wrong.
We didn't even think it
would work.
FRANK
You're not going to jail.
You've helped us out.
A knock on the door interrups them.
AGENT
I'm sorry to bother you,
Ms. Vansen's parents are
here.
FRANK
Thank you.
The other agent leaves.
FRANK
You can go. (beat) Agent
Doggett will walk you out.
If you'd like security around
your house, just let us know.
JESSICA
Thank you.Doggett opens the door for her, and leaves after her. Frank stops recording.
CUT TO:
INT. HOSPITAL - SAME NIGHT
Monica looks restless in her bed. She doesn't want to be there any more. She'd rather be out in the field working the case. She is pressing the button for the nurse to come in. A few beats later, Nurse Sara comes in.
NURSE SARA
What is it now Ms. Reyes?
REYES
(trying to be sneaky)
I need some water...
Nurse Sara looks at her suspiciously. She takes a cup and walks over to the sink. Turns the water on.
REYES
Not from there. I need
bottled water.
Nurse Sara gives her a look.
NURSE SARA
Ms. Reyes, you aren't
getting out of here.
Not without the doctor's
permission. And as long
as you are on my shift,
you'll stay right where you are.
Monica gets comfortable in her bed again. She doesn't seem happy.
REYES
But I feel fine. Really.
NURSE SARA
Get some rest.
Nurse Sara leaves her room. She sits on a chair next to Monica's room. Monica listens carefully... waiting to make her move... She quietly gets out of bed... she's already dressed in normal clothes... except for the hospital gown as her top. She picks up her shoes ever so carefully... as quiet as can be.
NURSE SARA (O.S.)
Ms. Reyes... don't even think about it.Monica continues to put on her shoes.
REYES
(innocent)
Think about what?
NURSE SARA (O.S.)
Sneakin' out.
REYES
(both shoes on)
I would never do that.
I can't do that on your
shift, remember?
CUT TO: EXT. MONICA'S HOSPITAL ROOM
Nurse Sara is reading a magazine. She can't see into Monica's room.
NURSE SARA
If I come in there, and
you aren't in your bed,
there's gonna be hell to pay.
She gets up from her seat and walks into the room. INT. MONICA'S HOSPITAL ROOM
Monica is nowhere to be seen. Nurse Sara searches frantically. She even checks underneath the pillows. Her eyes wander over to the open window...
She looks out the window to see Monica getting into her car and driving off. Nurse Sara just shakes her head.
NURSE SARA
Now I'm in for it...CUT TO:
EXT. EMPTY ROAD - SAME NIGHT
Monica is driving the black rental car. No one is following her from the hospital trying to get her back. The radio is on, oldies. She seems happy to be out of that place.
The road is long, dark and empty. But suddenly, Monica slams on the breaks. A dark figure of Krycek looks back at her.
REYES
(eyes wide)
What do you want?!
Krycek holds up a daisy... it dies. Monica is back in her trance state... Krycek suddenly appears in her car... sitting next to her. He just looks at her. Her head slowly looks over to him.
KRYCEK
(mysterious/holding dead daisy)
This is who you are...Monica looks confused...
REYES
(voice echos)
You say that, but I don't get it...
Krycek says nothing and just looks at her.
REYES
(voice echos)
Who are you?Krycek's eyes go red... blood red...
KRYCEK
(echo voice too)
I'm the Devil...Monica looks him over curiously... she doesn't believe him...
Suddenly, a bright light fills the screen... blinding.
Monica SNAPS out of it! The sound of a horn blowing makes her realize what is happening. She swerves out of the way of a huge semi. She stops her car. Her breath is fast.
She looks over to the passenger seat. No one is there.
REYES
(to herself)
What drugs did they put me on...CUT TO:
EXT. TRAVIS CARTER'S HOUSE - THAT NIGHT
Doggett and Frank are on the front porch of the house. It's a small beat up house. Paint peeling from the wood, a trashy car in the driveway...
Frank knocks on the door.
DOGGETT
(after a beat)
Doesn't look like anyone's here.
Frank knocks again.
DOGGETT
I'll check the other door.Frank nods. Doggett takes off and rounds the corner.
EXT. SIDE OF HOUSE
A shadow moves. Doggett runs by it to the back of the house. He peeks in the window. He sees inside:
DOGGETT'S POV - a table with what looks like pounds of crack. A gun is there too. All the lights are off. The place is a dump.
A twig snaps behind him.
Doggett whirls around fast! BLAM! Shots fired!
FADE OUT:
END ACT TWO
ACT THREE
FADE IN:EXT. TRAVIS CARTER'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Frank is alert at the sound of shots fired. He pulls his gun out and carefully makes his way to the back of the house where Doggett is.
FRANK'S POV - BACKYARD
He sees Doggett laying on the ground. He is bleeding. He seems to be dead.
Frank quickly runs to him. He gets on his cell phone.
FRANK
(into phone)
This is Special Agent Black,
I have an agent down!Doggett seems out of it... he lays there, obviously in pain.
FRANK
Agent Doggett... what happened?Doggett says nothing. Frank looks around the back yard and sees no one in sight. Frank checks Doggett's pulse.
CUT TO:
INT. HOSPITAL
Doggett is being rushed in on a stretcher. He's slowly going out of consciousness.
The doctors wheel Doggett into the ER, Nurse Sara stops Frank from going in. Just as... Monica bursts through the doors. Frank notices her, he looks a little puzzled.
REYES
What happened?
FRANK
They let you out?
Monica gets a guilty look on her face. She doesn't answer.
REYES
You don't need to know.
Nurse Sara looks over to Monica.
NURSE SARA
(to Monica)
You're suppose to be in your bed!Monica acts like she didn't hear her.
REYES
What happened?
FRANK
He got shot. I'm
sure he'll be fine.CUT TO:
INT. JESSICA VANSEN'S BEDROOM - THAT NIGHT
The lights are off. She's sleeping peacefully in her bed. After the days events, she is exhausted. Pale moonlight shines in threw a crack in the curtains.
A shadow looms over her. She doesn't stir. We notice that the shadow now seems to be holding a gun. A unsteady hand enters frame.
Jessica suddenly jerks awake. Sensing the presence.
JESSICA
What are you doing here?
We pull back to realize who she is talking to. Summer Watts. She has tears in her eyes. A gun pointed at Jessica.
JESSICA
Summer, just put the gun down.
SUMMER
SHUT UP! Do you realize
what you've done?!
No answer from Jessica...
SUMMER
You've ruined everything. You
did this to Darrel and Crystal!
Jessica shakes her head "no".
JESSICA
No... I didn't...
SUMMER
(obsessive)
I know why you did it too.
You want Travis. You killed
to have him. (beat) But you
can't take him away from me.
JESSICA
Summer... I don't know what
you're talking about. I don't
want anything to do with him.
Summer doesn't look very stable. The gun in her hand is shaking. A dark shadow behind her lurks...
SUMMER
Don't even try the sympathy crap
with me. I know I'm next. That's

The dark figure shows himself... once again... Krycek emergest from the dark. Jessica once again sees him as the demon.
SUMMER
(in tears)
Have you ever danced with
the devil in the pale moonlight?Krycek senses his cue and strikes Summer down. He says nothing as she falls to the ground. Her body disappears into nothingness. Jessica watches Krycek in fear. Not understanding what he's doing.
KRYCEK
This is who you are...Jessica says nothing as Krycek approaches her. Jessica doesn't seem to have any fear of him...
CUT TO:
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - NEXT MORNING
Doggett is in one bed, with Monica in another bed. She looks unhappy. Doggett is sleeping. She presses the button to call the nurse.
No one comes in.
REYES
(to a sleeping Doggett)
No one ever comes.
She's very bored. Especially since she's talking to Doggett, who's sleeping. Monica presses the button continuously. Finally, Nurse Sara comes in. Monica smiles.
NURSE SARA
(tired of Monica)
No. I'm not going to get you
bottled water. I'm not going
to wake your friend up. I'm
not going to turn on cartoons
for you. I'm tired of you. (beat)
Get some rest.
Monica's smile fades.
REYES
That's not what I was
going to ask you...
NURSE SARA
What then?
REYES
I'm hungry. (beat) I would've
gotten it myself, but you told
me I couldn't leave my bed...Nurse Sara gives in, and exits to go get her some crappy hospital food.
Frank Black enters the room as Nurse Sara leaves. He has a somber expresson on his face. He gives Monica a look, she knows exactly what he has to tell her.
DISOLVE FADE TO TIME CUT:
INT. DOGGETT & REYES' OFFICE - ONE WEEK LATER
Monica is at her desk typing up a case report.
REYES (V.O.)
Addendum to case report...(beat)
After the deats of Darrel Greentree,
Crystal Harrison, and Jessica Vansen,
I find a conclusion is difficult to
find. All of their deats are mysterious
and unexplainable.
Monica looks at photos of each crime scene. Darrel's chared body, Crystal's disgusting exploded body, and finally Jessica's. She is laying on her bed, arms crossed. She looks at peace. No sign of a struggle or of torture.
REYES (V.O.)
No motive could be established.
The most troubling of them all
is the death of Jessica Vansen. It
seemed almost staged. On the walls,
written in Jessica's blood are the
words: "This Is Who We Are". (beat)
Yet her body shows no sign of cuts.We see a photograph from the scene. The words are written on a wall.
REYES (V.O.)
It is my belief that the evil
that did this is still out there.
It will remain out there. (beat)
