"That’s it! There’s no hope! It’s all over!" - Mulder

I warn everyone now. This is a very graphic and disturbing episode during part of this episode. But it's cleary warned and you can easily skip the horrible part!

Anyway! Mulder FINALLY figures out that Scully and Monica are "dead". How long do you bet he'll be crying? What'll he do? CSM at his worst in this episode. Get ready to feel simpathy for Scully and pure hatred for CSM!

FADE IN:

INT. MULDER/KRYCEK’S APARTMENT – BEDROOM – 10:00 A.M.
JANUARY 1, 2005

Mulder is lying in bed, his face sideways in his fluffy pillow. He is shirtless. His bare arms are sprawled out to his side. He’s sleeping peacefully after having partied all night last night at Robert Alfredo’s New Years Eve Party.

WHAM! His radio alarm clock springs into song, “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go” by Wham! This does not seem to wake Mulder up. His eyes remain closed. A grin slowly forms on his face and slowly his eyes open. He rolls out of bed and stands up, stretching his arms above him, yawning.

MULDER
(to self)
Good morning 2005.

He walks over to his dresser and opens a drawer. He pulls out his lime green Super Buddies T-shirt. He pulls it on over his bedhead and he smiles. This is the life.

Mulder walks out into the living room and pulls up his chair at his computer. He opens Internet Explorer and it lands on his and Krycek’s message board: Goofy Spooky. He logs into the forum and begins typing a new message.

SUBJECT: Super Happy New Year!
TEXT MESSAGE: Hey Buddies! I’m just popping into wish you all a happy new year! Especially to the folks from Robert’s Smashing New Years Eve Bash and here at Goofy Spooky: Alfredo, GothicSpook, Kagome, Krycek, Marita, Skinman, Jeffrey, Teso, Emma Keturah, foxluvesangel, foxytime, Rainbow, Marie-Eve, Cerasi J., Natie-poo, gafan, lillebailey, epoxyrisen, Kryceksfox, RobsGirl, mohawkkid2001 , allyphile, knicks_fan02 (I love the New York Knicks too!), Ted, Simon, Elliot, Samantha (I have a sister named Samantha), Diana, Erin, britney, Chris N., Pearl, Caite, and Perla. I also want to wish happy new year to my buddies Scully and Monica who, I guess, couldn’t make it out to par-tay this year. I love you all bunches! =Mulder=

Mulder smiles and hopes he hasn’t left anyone out when he submits his message to the forum. He lets out a happy sigh. If only Brad and John would have been able to come.

Behind him Diana enters the room. She is wearing jeans and a pink and red, floral print long-sleeve shirt. Her hair falls loosely around her shoulders.

DIANA
Good morning, Fox.

She walks up behind him and wraps her arms around his waist. She gives him a kiss on the cheek.

DIANA
Happy new year.

Mulder logs off of the internet.

MULDER
I’m going to call all my
Super Buddy buddies today
and have a happy new year
Super Buddy adventure.

DIANA
What kind of adventure?

MULDER
You know, winter wonderland
stuff. Snowball fights,
sledding, making snowmen, and
snow angels… the Polar Bear Club…

DIANA
Polar Bear Club?

MULDER
My way to get Alex to jump
naked into icy water. Everyone
will do it. Only Alex will do
it naked, everyone else will
be wearing swim suits.

DIANA
As much as I’d love to join
you, I can’t. I’m meeting
up with my cousin later
today for lunch and shopping.
I’m sorry.

MULDER
Oh, that’s all right. I’m
going to make sure that
Scully is going to be there,
and you know that you and her
don’t get along well so…It’s
been so long since I last
saw her, she must be extremely
busy lately.

DIANA
I guess so. (beat) Make
sure that you bring warm
clothes with you so you
don’t get pneumonia.

She squeezes his shoulder.

MULDER
I know. (beat) Is Alex home
yet or did he and Marita stay
too long at the party last night?

DIANA
He’s not home yet, but
Marita called earlier to
let me know that he crashed
at her place last night.

Mulder gives his wife a surprised look.

MULDER
By George, are they back together?

Diana shrugs her shoulders.

DIANA
Not sure, but considering
how they’ve been the past month
or so, and how they were all
over each other last night, I
wouldn’t doubt it.

Diana retreats into the kitchen and Mulder stands up and returns to his bedroom to prepare for the fun and exciting day ahead of him.

CUT TO:

INT. NEW YORK CITY APARTMENT – 11 A.M.

The Cigarette-Smoking Man and Scully are sitting in the living room together. They sit quietly on the couch in the sparse room. The Cigarette-Smoking Man is wearing a dark grey robe and Scully is dressed for the day in black slacks and a long-sleeve, olive green shirt. Her fingers fumble with the cross necklace around her neck. The two of them are staring at the fire in the fireplace.

Scully’s only wish is to leave this man, to save Monica from any further destruction due to John Montgomery’s tests and research. She tries not to feel sorry for herself for the treatment she’s endured from the Cigarette-Smoking Man since she and Monica attempted to escape on Christmas Eve. The fading bruise on her left eye is a painful reminder of the price she’s had to pay for trying to do the right thing. The Cigarette-Smoking Man has not hit her since re-capturing her on Christmas Eve, but she knows all too well that the threat is there. In some ways the threat scares her and in another way it only makes her want to fight harder.

Scully rubs her hands along her arms. She doesn’t like cold weather and she’s freezing cold despite the fire in the fireplace. Typically this time of year, she uses her vacation time to travel to a warmer climate like Las Vegas, Hawaii or Mexico as she has done in the past with her friends.

The Cigarette-Smoking Man grabs his pack of Morleys from the table and lights up.

SCULLY
Those aren’t healthy
for you, Charles.

The Cigarette-Smoking man exhales the smoke from his mouth and then he leans over and kisses Scully on the cheek.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
I see that you’re learning to
care for me. (beat) Would you
like a smoke?

He holds out his pack of Morleys, offering Scully a cigarette.

SCULLY
No thank you. I quit
smoking years ago.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
That’s too bad, you used to
have a smoke each time after
we made love in the past.

SCULLY
Well, the past is history.
I’m not the same person you
knew back then.

The Cigarette-Smoking Man caresses his hand across her leg.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
In some ways, no, but in others…

He leers at her.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
… in others you’re just the
same as before.

He removes his hand from her leg and takes hold of her left hand. There’s a beautiful diamond engagement ring on her finger. He kisses the top of her hand.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
We spoke of marriage years ago
and now it will finally happen.

SCULLY
(unhappy/sarcastic)
Unless by the grace of a loving
God my cancer comes out of
remission and I die before
you make me say “I do”.

The Cigarette-Smoking Man grasps onto her wrist and squeezes it tightly.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
If I were you, Dana, I would
not speak like that again.
You wouldn’t really want your
cancer to come out of remission
now, would you?

Scully tries to pull her wrist out of his hand.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
It wouldn’t be much of a problem
for me to tell Dr. Montgomery
to program the chip in your
neck in order to bring back the illness.

SCULLY
I could easily remove that
chip on my own and take away
any power or control you may
have on my health.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
As you know, my dear, if you
remove the chip you most
certainly will die from cancer
with no possibility to use
the chip technology to bring
it into remission to save your
life. Removing it is suicide.

The Cigarette-Smoking Man lets go of her wrist.

SCULLY
Why did you put that chip
in my neck in the first place?

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
To keep track of you after
you left the group in ’93.
I always knew that eventually
we would need you back on the Project.

SCULLY
It’s a tracing device?

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
Developed from alien technology.
The aliens implant chips in the
necks of abductees in order to
track them down. (beat) Do you
remember the crash of Flight 194
a few years ago? I believe you
and Agent Mulder worked the case.

SCULLY
What about it?

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
There was a young girl on the
flight. She was travelling with
two men of the group. (beat)
A chip was retrieved from the
neck of this girl.

SCULLY
Are you trying to tell me that
the chip in the girl’s neck
was responsible for the crash
and the death of the people on board?

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
The aliens were trying to intercept
the chip because it contains information
concerning recent advances in our
technology. Fortunately, our men
retrieved the chip before the aliens
got to it. It was because we used alien
technology to create our own chips
that the aliens were able to track the girl down.

SCULLY
So theoretically the aliens
could track me down if they wanted to.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
Yes, but they will not. I have
made a deal with the aliens to
secure mine and your survival when
colonization begins. They will have
no reason to track you down since
they will have your full cooperation.

SCULLY
Cooperation in what?

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
I have an understanding with them
that I will not try to prevent
them from colonizing and I’ve let
them know you will do the same.

Scully doesn’t say anything. She does not agree with this. She wants to do whatever she can to stop the aliens from invading the planet.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
Don’t worry, Dana, you’ll be
safe with me as will the child
we will have together in the
near future.

Scully takes a deep breath.

SCULLY
There have been rumors among
the other scientists that
an alien bounty hunter is
trying to prevent them from
creating a vaccine and that we
are all in danger of being killed.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
I’ve heard none of those rumors.
I wouldn’t take them to mean a thing.

They are quiet for a beat. Something else is on Scully’s mind.

SCULLY
You say that the aliens can
trace my exact location by
using the chip in the back
of my neck. What if we do
succeed in creating a successful
vaccination? How do we know
that they won’t be able to
mutate the virus to become
immune to our only defense
against them?

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
That’s something we just have
to hope does not happen. We
have no way to prevent that
from happening.

SCULLY
Do we know how and where
they will begin their
invasion of the planet?

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
They are lying dormant at the
bottom of our oceans, awaiting
their orders to attack. I suppose
my men will inform our President
and he will call all military personel
to duty, and ask for those in
retirement to return to duty for the
largest national security threat of our lives.

The Cigarette-Smoking Man stands and offers his hand to Scully. He puts out his cigarette.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
Now, my dear, let’s go enjoy
the rest of our day together
before we have to return to
that dreary facility tomorrow.

Scully takes his hand and he helps her to her feet – a smug expression on his face.

CUT TO:

INT. MARITA’S APARTMENT – 1 P.M.

Marita is in her living room, watching the television. There’s an all day marathon of chick flicks on some woman network. Marita is still dressed in her pajamas, but she has run a comb through her hair. She’s enjoying a lazy New Years Day.

At the commercial break, she stands up and goes into her bedroom. She stands in the doorway. Krycek is still asleep on her bed. He’s wearing a pair of pink pajamas. His arms are wrapped around her pillow.

Marita smiles and sits next to him on the bed. She runs the back of her hand across his face. Even in his sleep, her touch brings a smile to his face. He licks his lips and mumbles something like “I love you too” under his breath.

MARITA
Sasha… sno-vum goh-dohm…

Marita wishes him a happy new year in Russian. Krycek opens his eyes and grins at her.

MARITA
Dobre ootram, maya
malinkaya kapusta…

She bends down and kisses his forehead.

MARITA
Did you sleep well?

She runs her hand lovingly through his hair. He sits up and looks down at the pajamas he’s wearing.

KRYCEK
I can’t believe I wore
pink Rainbow Brite pajamas to bed.

He leans over and kisses Marita on the lips as he lies back down in bed, Marita now on top of him. He runs his hand under her shirt, caressing her back. Marita seductively giggles her approval.

MARITA
(whispers)
I love you, Alex.

She kisses him again as he begins removing her shirt.

The phone rings. They stop what they are doing and Marita pushes herself off of Krycek.

KRYCEK
(mumbles)
Damn phone.

Marita reaches over to answer her phone.

MARITA
This is Marita Covarrubias.
(beat) Hi Mulder, happy new
year to you too. (disbelief)
You want us to what? (beat)
All right, we’ll be there.
(beat) Goodbye.

Marita hands up and smiles at Krycek.

MARITA
That was Mulder. We’re
going swimming today.

KRYCEK
All right!

He gets out of bed and strips off the pink Rainbow Brite pajama top. He walks over to Marita’s dresser and opens a drawer. There are mens clothes in it. He retrieves a T-shirt and pants from it. These are his own clothes. So… Krycek is keeping clean clothes in a drawer at Marita’s new apartment. Hmm… what could that mean?

As Krycek gets dressed, Marita goes about getting things to bring when they go polar bearing/swimming the first day of January 2005.

CUT TO:

INT. DOGGETT’S HOUSE – 1:04 P.M.

Doggett stands facing his living room window. The blinds are open and we see snow on the ground. He is wearing jeans and a grey sweatshirt. He’s holding a FBI coffee mug in his hand, steam rises from it.

He never realized until now that he missed having a white Christmas. Spending Christmas in Texas with his parents made him realize this. He used to not like Christmas or the entire holiday season, not since the year his son, Luke, was murdered.

He takes a sip of his coffee and smiles. The last two Christmases hadn’t been bad at all. Sure he had to dress up as Santa to please Mulder and Marita one year, but the year after that was practically perfect. Scully had been sad, reflecting on her relationship with her father and how their differences hadn’t been resolved before he passed away. By helping her deal with that, he realized in his heart that he loves her. That Christmas was a huge step for the both of them in terms of their relationship. They grew from petty flirtations to being able to share personal grief with each other. She at Christmas and he a few months later when he admitted he blames himself for his son’s death.

Will he ever be able to be with her again? To spend the rest of his life with her as Grandmama Reyes has forseen? To create a family with her and to enjoy each other’s company, friendship and love until death do them part?

He looks out at the fresh snow in his lawn and sighs. She’s alive and there’s nothing he can do about it. This breaks his heart, angers him, frustrates him, but it also gives him hope that one day she’ll walk back into his life and they will both find happiness.

The sound of his phone ringing snaps him out of his thoughts. He sets his mug down on his coffee table and answers.

DOGGETT
Hello?

MULDER
(on phone)
Geez Doggett! Where have
you been? I’ve been trying
to call you now for 15 minutes.

Doggett looks at his wrist watch: 1:19 P.M.

DOGGETT
I’m sorry. I was just
caught up in my own
thoughts, didn’t hear
the phone ringing.

MULDER
That’s all right. (beat)
I’m having a Super Buddies
activity today.

DOGGETT
Oh, I don’t know if I’m
feeling up to that, Mulder.

MULDER
Oh, but you’ve gotta.

Doggett sighs, remembering how many times Dana told everyone it’s better to please Mulder than to not.

MULDER
We’re gonna go Polar Bearing.

DOGGETT
(unenthusiastic)
Is Brad coming?

MULDER
Of course.

DOGGETT
Sure. Where are we meeting?

MULDER
At the FBI parking garage at
3 P.M. Bring a towel and
warm clothes to change into.

Mulder hangs up. Doggett looks at his phone. Oh joy. Another winter day with an over-enthusiastic Mulder. He hangs up his phone and heads upstairs to his room.

CUT TO:

INT. RESEARCH FACILITY – 8:16 P.M. (LOCAL TIME)
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND

Two doctors are in a lab similar to the testing labs of the facility in New York.

DOCTOR 1
I don’t know what to make of this.

DOCTOR 2
Doctor Montgomery says he has
a test subject which will not
fail us.

DOCTOR 1
Then why does he not share that
information with us so we can
mass produce the vaccine?

DOCTOR 2
He has not completed his
research so there is no
vaccine at present.

DOCTOR 1
What are his orders?

DOCTOR 2
Stop testing immediately.
Destroy all test subjects
which have been subjected
to the virus and release
those who have not. (beat)
Go home until further notice.

The two doctors look at one another unsure if this is the wisest thing to do.

The door to the lab opens and a bulky man enters the room, he is not dressed like the doctors are. This is the Alien Bounty Hunter.

ALIEN BOUNTY HUNTER
Excuse me. I’m wondering if
you two might be able to help
me. I believe you’ve received
correspondence from an associate
of mine, Doctor Johnathan Mongomery.

DOCTOR 1
Yes, we have. What do you need?

ALIEN BOUNTY HUNTER
I’ve misplaced his current
address and would like to
know his whereabouts. This
is the last address I have for him.

DOCTOR 2
He left here a couple years
ago. I think he’s at the
Strughhold Research Facility
in the United States. New Jersey, I think.

DOCTOR 1
New York.

DOCTOR 2
Oh yes, that’s right. New York.

They smile at the Alien Bounty Hunter.

DOCTOR 1
Are you part of the Project?

ALIEN BOUNTY HUNTER
(lies)
Yes. I am. How is the research
coming? Last I read we had
developed a weak vaccine.
Have there been any improvements?

DOCTOR 1
Yes, actually there have been.
Apparently Dr. Montgomery is
working with a test subject
who holds the key to the creation
of a successful vaccination. I
guess his theory on human psychics
wasn’t so ridiculous after all.

ALIEN BOUNTY HUNTER
Yeah, I guess not… that’s
too bad for you two.

The Alien Bounty Hunter whips out a sharp metal stiletto and thrusts the sharp point into the neck of Doctor 1. He pulls it out and menacingly looks at Doctor 2 who is scurrying to the lab’s exit. He steps toward him, and stops him before he can escape.

DOCTOR 2
What are you doing?

ALIEN BOUNTY HUNTER
Just as I was sent to do.

The Alien Bounty Hunter thrusts the stiletto into the side of Doctor 2’s neck, killing him instantly. The man drops to the floor with a quiet thud. The Alien Bounty Hunter closes his weapon and returns it to his coat pocket. He exits the lab, and walks out into the facility’s hallway. He steps over the dead bodies of security guards who attempted to stop him from murdering men of the Project.

The Alien Bounty Hunter steps out into the freezing Swiss night air. He lets out a sigh. In the past month he has been working his way around the world, silently killing off scientists of the Project. His murders have gone unnoticed since the facility Montgomery works at has remained very top secret. Now the only scientists left to destroy are those living and working at the research facility in New York. It may take him a day or so to pin point that facility’s location, but he knows that his mission to eliminate those who threaten the alien’s success with invasion is near.

CUT TO:

EXT. PARK IN VIRGINIA – 3:36 P.M.

Mulder is standing proudly before the small group of Super Buddies that have assembled today for his Happy New Years Super Buddies Adventure Day.

Krycek, Marita, Doggett, Brad, and Spender stand in front of him. They are cold.

MULDER
Remember that Super Buddies
is a fun group for people of
the world to join if they believe
that love and friendship conquer
all. So I ask of you, my dear
Super Buddies, if you have a friend
please bring them to the next
Super Buddies meeting. That way they
can join us and help spread love,
friendship, and cheer throughout the world.

SPENDER
Why the hell do we have to
stand out here in the cold
to hear you say this? I’m not
going to be able to call myself
a man much longer it’s so cold out.

MULDER
Don’t say “hell”, instead
say “H.E. double hockey sticks”.
It’s friendlier that way.

Doggett leans over to Brad.

DOGGETT
I can’t believe I’m standing
here listening to this. A beer
is sounding rather good right
about now.

Brad gives John a look. He thought that John was trying to stop drinking alcohol.

BRAD
You know you don’t want to do that.

DOGGETT
I know, but… you know what I mean.

BRAD
A bullet in the head would
be preferable to this?

DOGGETT
Yeah.

Suddenly, Mulder is right in front of them.

MULDER
Is there something you two
would like to share with the class?

BRAD
No.

MULDER
Good.

He hands Brad a sled and some Crisco.

MULDER
I want the two of you to
grease up the underside
of my Super Sled. I want
to recreate what Chevy Chase’s
Clark Griswald did in “National
Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”.

Brad and John exchange looks. Mulder’s crazy.

DOGGETT
You do realize the Crisco
thing was exaggerated in
the movie, right?

MULDER
Doesn’t matter. Grease
it up. Make it Greased Lightening.

Mulder happily marches off.

BRAD
Guess that means we
have to do this.

Brad kneels down in the snow and begins greasing up the sled. Doggett watches him. His thoughts honestly are not on Mulder’s little fun adventure, he’s still thinking about Scully. He feels as if he’s turned his back on her because he hasn’t tried to save her and Monica since he remembered what really happened last March.

After a minute or so, Brad stands up, holding Mulder’s sled.

BRAD
Let’s hope that he
doesn’t kill himself.

Brad starts to walk away, but Doggett stops him. There’s something more important on his mind.

DOGGETT
Do you think we’ll ever
see Dana and Mon’ again?
I mean, really see them again.

Brad pauses. He’s not sure how to answer him. In the past couple months he’s run into Scully and seen her and Monica taken by strange men on the Brooklyn Bridge. He’d like to still have hope that one day they’ll be back, but recently he’s felt that perhaps it is time to start moving on.

BRAD
I think Dana would want you
to go on, live your life, find
happiness with yourself and
perhaps love another.

Brad reiterates what Scully told him to tell John if she could never return to him. Brad walks off, leaving Doggett stunned in silence.

John wasn’t expecting that response. He thought Brad may have said something more positive. If only he knew or remembered exactly where he and Monica had been taken. He could go there and rescue her and Dana. He’s not one to give up. He never gives up hope. All his life he’s always believed in keeping hope alive, even when everything around him was pointing in the opposite direction. Brad’s words about moving on have only fueled more hope and determination inside of him. Perhaps he should work on his own to locate Dana and Monica, and bring them back home.

Slowly he begins walking toward where Mulder is set up to sled down a hill. He shakes his head in amusement when Krycek gets in the sled behind Mulder, wrapping his arms around Mulder’s waist. Spender gives them a BIG SHOVE and they are quickly on their way downhill and they wipe out, tipping over before reaching the bottom of the hill.

CUT TO:

INT. CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN’S BEDROOM – APT – 4:08 P.M.
NEW YORK CITY

The bedroom is beginning to get dark due to the setting sun. We pan across the bedroom floor and see clothing scattered about: slacks, green shirt, black bra… we slowly pan up to the bed. The sheets are crumpled and there is movement coming from underneath the bed sheets.

We rise and see the Cigarette-Smoking Man on top of Scully. His bare back is glistening with sweat. He slowly is thrusting himself into her, “making love” to her.

Scully’s head is turned to the side, not wanting to see the Smoking Man’s naked body or see his orgasmic facial expressions. She is emotionless, numb inside. She feels dead. How can she lie here, legs spread for this man? She’s sure that he has killed John Doggett because of the message she left on his machine the day before Christmas Eve. If he is dead, then the threats the Smoking Man makes against his life are most certainly a lie. She knows that it is certain Monica is going to die because of the tests she is being exposed to.

The Smoking Man has nothing which to threaten her with anymore. He may hit her and physically assault her, but enough is enough. She wants to let this bastard know she is not as weak as he wants to have made her.

Scully blinks her eyes and turns to look at the Smoking Man. Though he is still thrusting against her, she feels he has gone soft inside her body. Now is a good time to finally regain control of her body and her life.

SCULLY
Charles.

The Smoking Man moans. It pleases him to hear her say his name. He tries to place his mouth on hers, but she quickly turns her head to the side. She places her hands on his chest and pushes him away from her body.

SCULLY
(forceful)
Stop.

The Smoking Man doesn’t like to hear that word come from her mouth. He caresses the side of her naked torso, grasping onto her bare breast. This sends sickening chills through her body.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
I don’t think so. We will take
any opportunity to conceive
a child together. You agreed
to this, remember?

He kisses her forehead and pinches her nipple with his fingers. He pinches her hard to intimidate her.

SCULLY
I never want to have your child.
I want you to remove yourself
from my body, get off of me and take
me back to the facility. (beat)
You’ve been pounding into me for
thirty minutes and you haven’t been
able to keep it up since minute three.

Yes, she decided to take a cheap hit and insult his manhood.

She pushes him off of her and sits up. She pulls a blanket over herself to cover her nudity.

SCULLY
I want this to end.

The Smoking Man is pissed. He grabs his pack of Morleys from the nightstand and he lights up. He lies on his back to speak to her.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
(calm, insulted, mad)
You’re a doctor. Prescribe
Viagra and I’ll be back up in no time.

SCULLY
I don’t think you heard me.
I want you to stop fucking me.
I don’t love you, I never have.
I’ve allowed this to continue
until now because I was afraid
for my life, for John’s life-

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
-What? You no longer fear for
the life of Monica Reyes?

SCULLY
You have nothing to threaten me with.

The Smoking Man inches closer to her again, putting out his cigarette in an ashtray.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
I know that since day one you
never tested on Ms. Reyes. I only
kept her alive and in your control
because of your participation and
cooperation with me both sexually
and romantically.

Scully sneers at him, hate burning into him from her eyes.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
(dead serious)
Now unless you want Ms. Reyes
to die today, you will do as you are told.

(sensitive material begins here and ends with the next line of red text)

He grabs Scully by the waist and pulls her into a lying position. He places his knee in between her legs. Scully struggles to push herself away from him. She is unsuccessful.

The Smoking Man presses his dry lips to hers and forces his tongue inside her mouth – rough and hard – making her gag. He uses his hands to bring her hands above her head. He holds them there with his left hand. He uses his right hand and his knee to angrily spread her legs apart.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
Since my manhood isn’t living
up to your sexual standards,
perhaps I’ll show you another
way I can fuck.

The Smoking Man sticks his face in between her legs and inserts his tongue inside of her.

Every muscle in Scully’s body tenses up. She has never had a good experience with oral sex and this is bound to make her sick to her stomach. She feels his tongue coil tightly around her clit. She feels his free hand slip at least three of his fingers inside her opening, pumping into her, building sexual climax tension in her core.

Tears stream down her face as she begs him to stop over and over again. Unwillingly she bucks her hips against his mouth, her body craving orgasm, her mind wanting nothing of the sort. She only wants this to end.

The Smoking Man purses his lips around her clit and sucks hard as his fingers continue to thrust into her, stimulating her. Scully screams loudly and thrusts against the Smoking Man’s mouth as her body violently shakes through the most intense orgasm of her entire life. His tongue continues to quickly roll over and over around her engorged clit, over-stimulating her. It hurts, but it feels horribly good. She bites her lower lip as his repeat stimulation brings her to orgasm again. Her body tries to move to the side, but his grasp on her hands is too strong.

She can’t believe this has happened to her again. Rape in the form of oral sex was the preferred method of rape Scott Williams used against her in high school. It is also the only way she has ever experienced an orgasm while being raped.

The Smoking Man lets go of her hands and lifts his head up from in between her legs. He licks her orgasmic juices from his lips and wipes his fingers off on her inner thigh. He smirks up at her, enjoying the power he has over her. He looks at her face, she’s still panting from the orgasms he brought to her. Her suffering excites him. He feels his penis harden into a large erection.

Scully covers her face with her arms. She hasn’t cried this hard in a long time.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
(proud)
I see you enjoyed that two times, my dear.

He grabs her hand and she tries to pull away. He places her hand on his hardened penis, making her wrap her fingers around him. She flinches away from him, but he holds her hand firmly in place.

CIGARETTE-SMOKING MAN
I think now it’s my turn for
a little fun.

He rolls on top of her. Her entire body trembles in fear. Not again. He spreads her legs again and slowly and deliberately inserts his dick inside her slick opening.

SCULLY
(crying)
Please, no…

He doesn’t listen. He lowers his face to hers and kisses her as he continues to rape her. He kisses her to keep her from crying for help. She will learn her lesson today, never say “no” to the Cigarette-Smoking Man.

She lifts her head upward as she chokes up throw up. She tilts her head to the side and pukes over the side of the bed. She is sick from what he is doing to her.

FADE OUT:

FADE IN:

EXT. ICY COLD LAKE – 4:26 P.M.

It is beginning to snow. Mulder, Krycek, Doggett, Brad, Marita and Spender are standing at the edge of a dock.

MULDER
Ok. On the count of four,
we all jump into the icy
water. (beat) Should we
all hold hands?

BRAD
That’s not necessary, really.

MULDER
Ok. ONE!

KRYCEK
Two!

MULDER
Three!

KRYCEK
Four!

Mulder, Krycek, Doggett and Spender all jump right into the icy lake. Marita and Brad do not. They share a look and start laughing.

BRAD
I can’t believe they did that.

They look into the water, everyone is swimming back. Doggett looks especially angry with the two of them.

DOGGETT
(angry)
Get your ass in here Mr. Follmer.

Marita looks at Brad.

MARITA
Let’s go back to the van
before they decide to throw us in.

BRAD
Good idea.

Marita and Brad run quickly back to the van Mulder brought specifically for Super Buddies (it’s red and lime green). They open the door and get in, quickly putting on their warm clothes.

In seconds John Doggett throws the van door open and points accusingly at Brad, his arm shaking and his teeth shattering from the freezing temperature. He says nothing, he’s too cold to speak.

Marita takes hold of his hand and helps him inside.

MARITA
I was in Wisconsin with Mulder
once when he fell into a lake.
You want to take off all your wet
clothes and get wrapped up in
many warm blankets.

He nods his head, only wanting warmth.

Marita looks away as he strips out of his swimming trunks. She reaches for a warm blanket.

MARITA
You’ll want to cover your
head to trap in as much
warmth as possible, ok?

Doggett nods his head. She covers his body with blankets and rubs his arms to create friction.

Mulder, Krycek and Spender return to the van. They are shivering as well.

BRAD
(to Marita)
I hope you brought a
lot of blankets.

MARITA
I did.

BRAD
Me too. I saw this coming.

He looks at Mulder who is in a panic.

MULDER
Oh no! Scully! I forgot
to bring warm blankets!

Mulder looks around the van, he doesn’t see Scully. His eyes grow wider in fear.

MULDER
Oh no! We left Scully
in the lake!

Spender is irritated, he rolls his eyes at Mulder. He’s sick of him not knowing that they have died.

SPENDER
Scully is dead, Mulder.
Please for the love of God,
come to that realization!

This silences Mulder, and everyone else. Everyone looks at Mulder, wondering what his reaction will be.

MULDER
You mean she drowned
in the icy lake?

SPENDER
No, she died nearly a year
ago along with Monica in a
car accident. How the hell
did you not hear about it?

MULDER
(on verge of tears)
Scully and Monica?

SPENDER
They’re gone, gone, gone,
gone gone.

Mulder’s lower lip quivers.

MULDER
(to others)
Did you all know about this?

Everyone looks away from him – of course they did. Though now some know that they aren’t really dead, but they can’t speak of this fact to Mulder. It’s too dangerous to speak of the truth now.

MULDER
You all deliberately lied
to me and led me to believe
they have been really busy…?

No one says anything. Mulder takes a very deep breath.

MULDER
(angry)
I need to go home and
do some very serious thinking.

Mulder grabs a thick blanket from Marita and hops into the driver seat and frantically drives back home.

SMASH CUT:

INT. MULDER/KRYCEK’S APARTMENT – 5:46 P.M.

The apartment door flies open and Mulder comes running into the room. He’s very upset. Diana looks up from the book she is reading as Mulder plops down next to her on the couch. He drops his head into her lap. He’s sobbing.

Diana is surprised by this behaviour. She looks at the doorway as Krycek enters.

DIANA
What happened?

KRYCEK
He finally found out
that Scully and Monica
are dead.

Krycek rolls his eyes.

DIANA
Oh.

She runs her hand through his hair.

MULDER
(crying)
That’s it! There’s no hope!
It’s all over!

DIANA
What’s all over, Fox?

MULDER
Oh! You know!

Krycek rolls his eyes and goes into the kitchen. He cocks an eyebrow. Where did their pet parrot, Peanut, go?

KRYCEK
Hey Diana? Where’s Peanut?

DIANA
(off screen)
Oh, umm… I sold him to some
old Chinese guy. I lied and
told him the damn thing was
a blessing from Buddha. He
tried to sell me a monkey as
if it’s legal to own one of
those things here.

Mulder shrieks.

MULDER
You too?! (beat) That is it!

Mulder is suddenly in Krycek’s face in the kitchen – lightening speed.

MULDER
Alexander Sergeiovich Krycek II, Junior!
Call all local Super Buddies and tell
them I’m having an emergency Super
Buddies meeting tomorrow afternoon at
Dilly Bob’s Ice Cream Shoppe at the mall!
Super Buddies is finished! Kaput! Finito!
Fini! The end! No more!

With that Mulder confidently storms out of the kitchen, leaving Krycek in shocked and saddened surprise. A single tear flows freely from Krycek’s eye. He sniffles and wipes it away. He never really thought Super Buddies was all that bad and now Mulder is ending it…

Off his and Diana’s expressions:
