Summary: What if Monica married Brad Follmer? This is 
an alternate story line for the 8th season of "Fox & 
Rat" Virtual Series.

Author's Note: My sister gave me several topics to 
write drabbles so I can get back into writing shape. 
This drabble is for "Fox & Rat" Virtual Series.

She takes hold of my hand with a smile that warms the 
heart. I lead her out to the dance floor, as the 
gentle opening guitar notes of "Time In A Bottle" 
play over the speakers.

"You look beautiful." I comment and she smiles. But 
her smile is missing something now that we're alone. 
A hint of regret washes over her. I know what that 
regret is. I feel it too, but we're both too late. 
She's Mrs. Brad Follmer now. We can't change that.

I place my hand strongly on her lower back, holding 
her close to me for one last time. She follows my 
lead with ease and grace. Our bodies move as one.

'I'd save every day like a treasure and then, 
Again, I would spend them with you 
 
But there never seems to be enough time 
To do the things you want to do 
Once you find them 
I've looked around enough to know 
That you're the one I want to go 
Through time with'

She places her head on my shoulder, pulling herself 
closer to me. "Te quiero." she whispers.

I lower my head to rest on her. The song's final 
notes end and I hold her for just one more second. 
She doesn't move to leave my arms until he comes.
 
"Monica, darling." Brad's voice interrupts our last 
moment together. "I want you to meet someone."

He pulls her away from me, smiling. She looks back at 
me with longing, and we both wish things were 
different.
