Lifestyle: Robert Alfredo spent most of his life growing up in Miami, Florida. He doesn't come from the best family by any means. In 1978, when Robert was ten years older, his father abandoned him, his mother and his younger sister, Maria. Robert's mother is constantly in trouble with the law and has a drug addiction. He has not spoken to his sister in years because of how she decided to live her life, addicted to drugs.

The lifestyle that he grew up in is what inspired him to become a law enforcement agent. He never approved of the life his family chose to live. Alfredo started out working at the Miami Field Office, working undercover to bust drug dealers to get them off the streets. He made his move to Headquarters when he had to pull out of an undercover case because they were taking down his father. The case was too personal and he decided to leave.

Alfredo's work at Headquarters has never been explored much. He works in the Criminal Investigations Division, but is commonly seen picking on Mulder and Krycek in the X-Files office.
