Lifestyle: Alex Krycek is the most misunderstood of all characters, and probably best known for his cheesy come-on lines or his Blockbuster flop "Robot 2000" that he wrote and directed in 2003. He can be lovable and caring and then suddenly switch to being a complete moron or jerk. The thing that makes Krycek tick is his attitude. He's afraid to let his sensitive side show for fear his "DA Man" ego will be tarnished.

Alex was born into a large family in Russia. He never speaks of his father, Sergei, or his work, but it's safe to assume he's into some kind of dirty business to support such a large family in Russia. Alex was close to his mother, Yelena, who died of cancer in 2000. The circumstances surrounding Yelena's death remained a mystery for a long time to Alex, but he knew that somehow the Cigarette-Smoking Man was involved. Later, he found that to be true. Alex is not close to his brothers or sisters. He never speaks much of them, except for Svetlana who he hates because she pesters him.

It is safe to say that Alex has found a family within his friends. But that trust in his family was tarnished when he back stabbed them by turning Dana Scully over to the Cigarette-Smoking Man in 2004. During that time, he has also been held accountable for the disappearance of Monica Reyes. Because of this incident, his friendships have been ruined and put on edge.

Alex has two main friendships in his life. Two people he can trust more than anyone. Dana Scully and Fox Mulder. He has a long history of helping Scully through hard times in her life, though he may not have done it in the best way, he has saved her life and helped her through an abusive boyfriend, Scott Williams. He can trust her more than anyone else.

His friendship with Fox Mulder was put on the rocks in 2004 and 2005 when Mulder knew about his involvement with the disappearance of Dana Scully and Monica Reyes. Trust was broken between them, and for a while Alex had to live with Mulder's brother, Jeffrey Spender. Mulder was stubborn about letting Krycek back into his life and becoming friends again, but that was resolved when Mulder found Krycek pathetically sleeping in a dumpster after Spender kicked him out.

Alex is devoted to Marita Covarrubias. He has loved her for his whole life, and always will - despite how he always hits on other women. Alex and Marita were married "by the heart" in 2005 on a spur of the moment event.

Things aren't always happy for Alex. He has made enemies with his mistakes, ruined friendships, and has a hard time re-deeming himself for his faults because he only makes them worse.

Alex has a love for classic things. He has a hidden talent of playing the piano, figure skating (in the Ice Dancing event with Marita), and enjoys classic movies like "Gone With The Wind".
