6x17 "Such A Ruckus"
by Kristi
As a writer, I like to bring my personal experiences into
my stories. With "Such
A Ruckus" there was no doubt in my mind that I had
to tell the story of what happened to me over winter break
2003.
All I knew when writing "Such A Ruckus" was that
I had to get Monica whacked in the head with a frying pan
by Marita. That was all I had to go on, and I had no idea
how to do it until the Highway Incident of Winter 2003 happened.
Cassie and I were driving to the airport so we could catch
our flight down to Texas to see our parents over the holiday.
It wasn't snowing out, which is unusual that late in December,
even for Kansas. The roads were a bit slick and I was driving
very carefully so I wouldn't have an accident.
I think I cursed myself because the even that happens to
Mulder and Krycek at the very beginning of the episode happened
to Cassie and I. However there are slight differences. Cassie
was on the phone with my mom asking her something. I didn't
know where our exit was until Cassie informed me at the last
minute. Thinking I could make it and not hit anything, I go
for the exit.
I guess you could say I didn't miss the exit, I was right
on top of it.
I totalled my car and Cassie and I ended up flying across
the highway, much like Mulder and Krycek did in the episode.
And when we finally came to a stop and a semi-truck flew by
us, Cassie says to my mom on the phone: "Well, we're
in the median."
And that's where "Such A Ruckus" came from.
